Market research is defined as the procedure of determining the feasibility of a new
product or service by research conducted directly with possible consumers. Market research
allows an organization to discover the target market and get opinions and other responses from
customers about their concern in the services and products ((Lee & Bradlow, 2011). In marketing
research, there are a set of techniques used to collect data and better comprehend an
organization’s target market. Companies use this data to design the best products, improve
worker experience, and generate a marketing message that entices quality tips and improves
exchange rates. Marketing research is not expensive if a company follows the right steps which
are involved in the process.
There are five steps involved in the marketing process include; defining the opportunity
or problem which is the most significant step. To carry out any research and gather information,
a company has to know what they are trying to acquire from the research process. In market
research, outlining the problem a company needs to resolve will determine what data the
company needs and ways they can use to gather the information (Clow & James, 2014). This will
