Problem Statement
The United States elections are scheduled for November 2016 and the race is tough
between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Hillary is representing the democrats while Trump
is representing the republicans. With just a few days to go to the polls, the anxiety in America is
high as to which candidate will emerge the best. The Americans are looking for a leader that will
help steer the country to a different level improving their way of life. It is important then to
ensure that the values of the leaders match the qualities that the Americans are looking for. The
understanding of the Unites States economy and the needs of the people help in creating an
environment that ensures that they are satisfied in their undertaking. The research problem that is
presented then is which candidate is the most preferred by the Americans to ensure that the
country is prosperous.
Research Objectives and Variables
The primary research objective is to identify the candidate that is preferred by the
American and who will make America better and will be guided by the following specific
objectives.

To identify the different strategies that the candidates will use to develop America.

To establish the best economic policies between the candidates.
The variables that will guide the research is the different actions that the candidates are

taking in making sure that they respond to the needs of the people and what they have done
before to ensure that they create a better environment. Addressing the different needs of the races
also is a variable that is considered to increase the popularity of the candidates and improve their
chances of winning the elections.

Sample Population
The sample is obtained through the use of sampling where the sample selection is done
randomly. It is said that the sample represents the opinions, needs and the attitudes of the whole
population (Bondesson et al., 2014). Probability sample is used where the sample selected
consists of adults that help in answering of the different questions that are presented. The use of
the method assists to select the participants randomly where they all have an equal chance of
participating meaning that they are prepared to answer the different questions that are presented
to them. It is possible to calculate the findings that we are likely to get for the sample that makes
it favorable to use the method as the results reflect the opinions of the whole population. It is also
possible to identify the error that results from the sampling method meaning that the results that
are obtained are more of accurate.
Data Collection
The data will be collected using a semi-structured questionnaire that will be issued to the
sample that is selected. The questionnaire will be issued through the drop and pick method that
gives the participants enough time to fill in the questions. Questionnaire is advantageous as it
helps in collecting large volumes of data in a short time, as the numbers of people that fill in are
many. It also ensures that confidentiality is created that helps to make the respondents
comfortable when they are answering the questions (Danaee, 2016). It is preferred that a
questionnaire is used as respondents are assumed to be literate and that they will answer the
questions as required meaning that the probability of getting errors in the research are
minimized.
The data will have both the quantitative and qualitative data where the quantitative data
will be analyzed through descriptive statistics by the use of excel that ensures that different

trends are observed. Qualitative data will be analyzed through the use of content analysis that
helps in creating flexibility of the information and ensures that the researcher remains objective
in finding the information.

The popularity of the candidates in America is high with trump being popular among the
republicans and Hillary among the democrats. The republicans are known to create policies that
