Introduction
The war between USA and United Kingdom resulted in adverse alterations in the roles
that women played in America’s society as a whole. According to Tindall, and Shi, (2013) w omen
served in various capacities in the warring period that lasted three years from 1812 to 1815. How
they helped the males, and their nation played a significant contribution on how they would
behave in their daily lives and activities.
Women occupation, cultural and social views
Before then, their profession and roles were visible, and anyone would predict their
duties. Women did not elicit equal rights as men, and the remained at home taking care of their
families. Similarly, women did not have the same kind of education as the male counterparts.
Tindall, and Shi, (2013) adds that w omen stayed and did not go beyond duties of the home, so they
made no relative contribution to the daily bread of the house, or when they did, they would
perform that from home, for instance, sewing, (Tindall, & Shi, 2013).
However, there existed a difference in the lifestyle of women from the upper class and
those of the lower class. Those from the upper class had husbands that held significant positions
