Introduction

The article provided in the guiding question is deeply addressing the economic history of the
Greece economy. It has in fact visited the post war period between the years 1940 to 1944, where
the entire Europe was under havoc, and Greeks were deeply visited by this disaster; the Nazi
Germany movement massacred around five hundred thousand people in this period. This was
further characterized by damages in infrastructure, brutal human oppression and even attacks
into the banking sector forcing its management to give loans to Germany.

All these acts have affected the Greek economy in one way or the other and to date she is
struggling with loans from international monetary funds. These challenges caused by the
Germans have lately built obstacles due to poor economic performance when Greece wanted to
join the European Union. This made key players in the Union to threaten quitting.

The article shows that the relationship between Greece and Germany has been on the decreasing
scale in the contemporary years simply because of the incurred financial crisis. The German
government claimed to have dealt with the issue legally back in 1960, but in close view, it is
revealed that they settled only a fraction of this debt. The German state made this claim again in
1990, but still the Greek finance minister through their general accounting office, availed a new
figure to be settled (Baumol, 2015).

This issue of reparation has been so much stressed by the Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, arguing
that they will never beg but rather demand of the nation’s wasted developments, payment of
misused damaged infrastructures and for payment of the forceful loan that was taken. He terms
