A Tale of two Cities |
Abstract
A Tale of two cities is one of the only two historical fiction novels written by Charles Dickens.
The novel has one of the best openings a novel could have and is based on the historical account
of the French Revolution of the late Eighteenth century. It is based in two cities: London and
Paris with the main story revolving around the lives of characters namely Dr. Manette, his
daughter Lucie and Charles Darney. It is believed that Dickens wrote this novel after being
inspired from a play that he acted in by Wilkie Collins titled The Frozen Deep. The story is
basically a about a love triangle between Lucie, Charles Darney and Sydney Carton; who loves
Lucie a lot and is willing to do anything for her happiness. A Tale of two cities is a story of love,
