Which solvent, water or hexane (CH3(CH2)4CH3), would you choose to dissolve Ethanol?

Water. The result is a lower grade alcohol due to the presence of water. The dissolution is hexothermic, i.e. it produces heat. Ethanol and hexane are very similar in structure, but polarity prevents dissolution. I hope this helps!
