The success of a project takes effective and proper planning, good management, adequate
resources, time management and a willing team to take on the project (Schibi, 2014). Moreover
the support of all stakeholders also contributes to the success of a project. However a project that
lacks one of these factors is more likely not to reach its intended purpose or goals. A company is
thus able to reach the success of a project when it has smart and intelligent people to manage the
project, strong project closure, good planning, support form stakeholders and adequate resources
such as time and finances so as to reach the set goal (Hughes, Dwivedi, Simintiras and Rana,
2016).
Northern Insurance Company took on a project that involved investing in technical
underwriting financial system (TUFS). According to the company this was the largest investment
that was expected to be productive after its implementation. However by the end of project
completion and its implementation the TUFS was unable to deliver effectively to the company. It
takes effort and supports as well as management for this project to be productive, failure to
which it fails to deliver the projects objectives. Therefore the TUFS investments at Northern
Insurance failed to deliver due to some mistakes or downfalls caused by failing to address the
influential factors that contribute to project success.
