The impact of social media on the business industry has highly increased in the current
years.PR professionals have to pay more attention to social media platforms because social
media's effective use is imperative. Some of the most popular social media platforms are;
YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. YouTube is a niche platform that can be used in a PR
campaign. Firms can use a video marketing strategy as part of their primary marketing strategy
because; it captures a lot of attention, generates high traffic capacities, videos have a good ROI,
increases search engine ratings, and reaches a global audience (Wigley & Zhang, 2011). All the
three platforms have their advantages and disadvantages as listed below;
Advantages of using YouTube;
a) It is free to use, that is, free to upload and watch videos on YouTube.
b) One does not need complicated computer skills to use it, so it is easy to use.
