Calculate the Heat of Reaction for the combustion of 1 mole of Sucrose using Heats of Formation data.

Oct 26th, 2014

Start with the equation for the combustion of sucrose. C6H12O6 + 6O2 = 6CO2 + 6H2O. The delta H of this reaction is what you're looking for.

It's the difference between the sum of the heats of formation of the substances on the left, and the sum of the heats of formation of the substances on the right.
