Both traditions base their focus on environmental protection only difference is that their
approaches vary. Eastern traditions focus on innovations that can help in conserving and
sustaining the environment whereas indigenous traditions base their protection on traditional
knowledge such as farmer’s views on how to preserve the environment. This affects people
relationship with nature since they are torn between which approach to sue for environmental
