Student engagement in learning is one of the most critical aspects of quality learning.
Students who are engaged in learning are likely to deliver better results than students who are
not involved or whose involvement is limited. There has been an increased focus on the
development of pedagogies that are likely to enhance learners' participation in the learning
process. In Enhancing student engagement using the flipped classroom, Gilboy et al. (2015)
find that flipped classroom is a practical approach that guarantees learner involvement in the
classroom. The authors describe a flipped classroom as a learner-centered that guarantees that
all learners will go through the relevant learning materials. The researchers involved 142
students in two Nutrition courses in investigating the impact of the flipped classroom on the
quality of their learning. A significant majority of the students responded that they preferred
the flipped classroom to the traditional pedagogies. The primary reason why most of the
students preferred the approach was that the students were involved effectively and that it
helped to address each student's unique needs. This pedagogy's practice is that learners are
