Burt and Paysnick argue that resiliency is an essential factor that turns a teenager into a
competent and responsible adult by establishing a specific degree of freedom that may assist the
teen in making the right decision and allowing them to cope with the teen-related problems in a
practical approach. The argument is that the generation's parents hold to the long in their
children's hand, an issue that makes them grow to be more dependent to their parents and reduce
the level of self-dependence (Theron, Levine, & Ungar, 2020).

Sexual risk factors are likely to increase in later adulthood, where the males are likely to
have more risks based on the casual sex encounters that the males engage in (Lee et al., 2018).
For young adults who may have gone through college, they have experienced less sexual
partners as compared to those with a high school diploma. The involvement of alcohol tends to
bring about more possibilities of engaging in casual sex without considering the risks that may
arise. Lastly, sexual encounter at early adulthood tends to increase the rate of engagement in
risky behaviour.
