Answer:
Q1
Pros
a. Delegation of inspection duties to the workers contributes largely to the building of trust
within the firm. Suppose people trust each other in an organization. The workers feel very
safe and valued. They can freely share ideas and perspectives that may contribute
positively to the organization's goals.
b. Employees will feel independent to make decisions, which increases their confidence at
work, enabling them to deal with any problems.
c. An organization often hires an inspection team to run the inspection duties. Therefore, if
workers can be given control over the inspection duties, then the organization cuts the
cost that would have been incurred in hiring the inspection team.
d. Another advantage is that the delegation of the inspection task to the workers brings about
a sense of responsibility. They feel responsible for completing all their assigned tasks and
duties on time.
e. Increased firm productivity – workers feel that they are trusted by their superiors,
improving employee morale, and reducing employee turnover. This increases the firm's
productivity since employees' mindset is aligned to the firm's goals; thus, it is a highprofit margin for the firm.
Cons
a. Integrity risks - delegating the inspection responsibility to the employees will result in
some of the workers not taking their duties or tasks assigned to them seriously. This is
because the one inspecting is just a fellow worker. The negligence of tasks could be not
meeting project deadlines or late arrival at work. Therefore, this may affect the firm’s
productivity negatively.
b. The inability of subordinates – an employee can be shy to assume an additional task
or responsibility. The fear of committing errors or lack of confidence may be a barrier to
the inspection work delegation.
Q2.
