conditions. Their claim is based on various findings from significant government reports, peerreviewed studies, and medical marijuana use globally over the years (Sznitman, and Yuval 22).
On the other hand, those who oppose medical marijuana argue that it is a dangerous drug
because it is addictive and long-term use affects the user's health significantly, FDA has not
approved it, and the use of marijuana is unnecessary because there are various legal drugs which
can perform its supposed medical functions (ProCon.org). Furthermore, they claim that other
severe health conditions that develop from marijuana use include the immune system, fertility,
and brain function interference, as well as lung injury. Primarily, it is crucial to consider both
sides' arguments to determine the greatest good for people. I believe that medical practitioners
should delve into further research to dispel the existing doubts of opponents of medical
marijuana if, indeed, its medical benefits are worth approving it.
