Being a black is not Weapon
The image above is a protest by the black Americans during which a young black
American was shot death by the police. The virtue of being does not guarantee you the existence
in the United States and being given justice like white inhabitants.
In His book, Between The World And Me, TA_NEHISI COATES noted that the struggle
for justice for the black people has been in existence since historical times and that it has cost the
black bodies and Lives to realize this freedom. His favorite quote clearly indicates the notion of
all these attributes of the black American “But all our phrasing –race relations, racial chasm,
racial justice, racial profiling, white privileged, even white supremacy-serves the obscure that
racism is visceral experience, that it dislodges the brains, block airways, rips muscles, extract
organs, crack bones, breaks teeth” (Coates, 2016) You must never look away from this. You
must always remember that the sociology, the history, the economics, the graphs, the charts, the
regressions all land, with great violence upon the bod.” (EVARISTO, 2016).
