This is kind of complicated (I have a Master's in International Relations and a BS in Political Science, History and Ethics so I could write a paper on this, lol.
A very brief, cut to the chase answer is - The United States outsources because the cost of labor and production can be done much cheaper in other parts of the world. Especially where child labor laws are nonexistent or unenforced (another ethical issue). The bottom line here - a product produced in the United States will be many many times more expensive than produced elsewhere (say China). Unfortunately, ethics often becomes secondary to promoting capitalism and a free market economy.
