15.1 L N2 at 25°C and 125 kPa and 37.1 L O2 at 25°C and 125 kPa were transferred to a tank with a volume of 6.25 L. What is the total pressure at 59°C?

15,1 L N2 at 25 °C and 125 kPa
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

25°C = (273.15+25) = 298,15 °K

P x V = n x R x T

. . . then :

n(N2) = P x V / (R x T)
n(N2) = 125•103 x 15.1•10-3 / (8.314 x 298.15)
n(N2) = 0.7614 mole of N2

37.1 L O2 at 25 °C and 125 kPa

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

n(O2 ) = P x V / (R x T)
n(O2 ) = 125•103 x 37.1•10-3 / (8.314 x 298.15)
n(O2 ) = 1.8708 mole of O2

The total pressure at 59 °C

P(total) = n(total) x R x T / V(final)
P(total) = (0.8825 +2.234) x 8.314 x 332,15 / 6.25•10-3
P(total) = 1.163•10^6 Pascal
