University of Technology & Applied Sciences Higher College of Technology Information Technology Department ITSE1203 - Introduction to Web Technology Semester 1, AY 2020-2021 / Mini-Project Guidelines (15%) Project Objective The assignment/mini-project allows students to demonstrate their acquired knowledge and skills throughout the course – Introduction to Web Technology. The required tool in developing the project is Blue Griffon. Project Description ▪ ▪ ▪ This is an individual project where the students must develop a responsive website using HTML5 and CSS3. The project will provide information (products or services) about a particular area like business, human resource, environment, education, health, technology etc. Each student is required to present their project and no students can use a ready-made template that are available online. Minimum Project Requirements The following are the minimum project requirements: • Design a website of an organization or a personal website. • Student’s project must contain two (2) web pages with the following details: I. Same theme (company name and domain name) should not be allowed in a class. Deadline: week 2. • The home page should be named as "index.html". • All the web pages should have a proper title. • Use a good combination of the different elements of multimedia such as text, graphics, animation, sound, and video. • A comment should be included in all web pages. Page 2 of 4 • Make sure that the following topics are included: I. HTML5 Structure and Elements II. CSS (External, Internal and Inline) III. Links (4 working links) IV. Images (4 maximum images, All Images should have Caption) V. Forms (use onclick event in the clickable button) VI. Responsive text and Image VII. Table, use row span and col span (Self-study) • Be creative, imaginative and resourceful. • Each student should present their created website. Marking Criteria: ▪ Students are graded as follows: (For detailed making scheme, refer to the “Project Rubrics” in the E-learning portal) Criteria Content & Creativity Navigation & Quick Links Layout & Background Self-Study Presentation Skills (Demonstration + VIVA) TOTAL Marks Allocated 6 1.5 1.5 1 5 15 Notes: • The assignment/project is done individually. • The deadline of the project will be on December 10, 2020. Projects should be uploaded in the e-learning portal. • The project should be saved in a folder named "Your Name-ID". Project with 4 MB size be uploaded to the e-learning portal. Larger size projects should be provided in CD. • Two (2) marks will be deducted for each late submission day from the total marks earned. • Only uploaded files will be presented and marked accordingly. • Late submitted projects will not be accepted for presentation. Students are required to present their progress in class during weekly monitoring sessions. Page 3 of 4 • Adhere to the plagiarism guidelines. The submitted project should be your own original work and not copied from others.
