Many childhood fairy tales, such
as those collected by the Brothers Grimm, were originally written for adult
audiences and were retold to children as frightening tales. Another purpose of
these stories was to provide cautionary wisdom of dangers present in childhood.
(If the wolf in Red Riding Hood didn’t keep kids on the path, we don’t know
what could.) Write a modern fairy tale reflecting the dangers facing children
today. Their fairy tales should be complete with heroines and heroes, evildoers
(e.g., animals, witches, jealous kings), and those in need of rescue. Be
creative. Optional: You can include illustrations.
