PROFILE OF MOTOROLA COMPANY
Management and planning
Motorola had a very good vision at the start when they had Bob Galvin as their CEO but
it lost directly after he left office. The management of Motorola company has failed in several
ways. First, the management made Motorola miss out on the movement to 3G. the management
also did not encourage innovation and invention within the company. Unlike other companies,
they were not in a position of expanding because they were not accepting the incorporation of
new ideas. The management has also failed to make the company grow (D'Alessandro &
Mohtadi, 2016). The stakeholders of Motorola are crying and mourning the bad actions that have
been implemented by management. This is making the company very hard to run and turning the
company into a downward spiral.
Failure to update their features also led to the downfall of the company. This made their
competitors like Realme and Xiaomi who are the top vendors of the mobile network. They
employed a poor planning system and they were not able to conduct a proper market search to
know what is required in the market. They failed to plan properly and they were not having
enough money to properly shift to smartphones and this made its stock take a plunge.
Employees perception and organizational culture
The employee’s perception changed after they witnessed what was going on in the
company. After Chris Calvin the son of the CEO left the company the leaders also started wiring
up competition over power and this act demoralized the employees. Even though Ed Zander tried
to repair the warring tribes, the leaders were not willing and this also made him give up
(D'Alessandro & Mohtadi, 2016). The management starts making all the organizational decisions
eve without involving the employees and this made the employees feel neglected. After Google

sold Motorola to its competitors, they stopped innovating new products and this played a critical
role in their downfall. The company was having a stressful environment.
Communication
The communication system in the company was not that good and this was witnessed
even when Ed Zander was trying to make the organization better. This poor communication
made the organization to ton have poor planning and poor management style. Communication is
very important in an organization and it plays a significant role in determining the success of the
organization. When there is good interaction between the management and the employees, the
organization will achieve its goals and the opposite will happen in the case of poor
communication. The communication style at Motorola demoralized the employees and this
reduced their performance (D'Alessandro & Mohtadi, 2016). The employees felt that they are not
valued by the organization since they were not involved in several important things that the
company was undertaking. The management also did not give a platform where employees could
air their grievances and this made them feel very low.
