According to Kavale, (2012) the relationship and connection between the structure and
strategy influence organizational performance. When an organization is setting a strategy its is
required to change the structure because it helps in effective implementation of the
organization’s strategy. The strategy is always followed by the structure as they are interrelated.
The strategy forms the basis for the development of organizational structure hence organizational
performance only arises when an organization adopts the best structures which are correctly
aligned with the strategy. The author noted that a mismatch between the structure and strategy
results in the ineffective performance of the organizations. Thus the management must consider
the most effective structure to a certain strategy and not make the errors of assuming the
