Comparing the Experience of Two English Speaking Cultures in the Caribbean
When it comes to the cultures in the islands they are very different and all have a unique history
that means that they are a part of their own cultural experience. When it comes to the people, it is
impossible to say that all of the people who have a shared language also have a shared culture.
When looking at the cultures of the islands of the Bahamas and also Jamaica it is hard to imagine
two places that could have more opposite cultures.
Both of these islands were colonies and both were settled at times by the Spanish and the British.
Both of these islands were famous for their plantations and also for their large productions of
rum, fruit, and other goods. Now both of these islands are also very large tourist destinations and
they also bring people to them every year with their incredible beaches and with their beauty.
A History of Slavery
Both of the islands also have a history of slavery which left them with many issues as well as
cultural divides. The Bahamas however were a favorite location of Europeans for many years
and this was the location where many of the world’s most wealthy people wanted...
