In these types of situations that are completely unexpected and cause very widespread loss of life. what warehousing activities (including receiving and shipping of goods) can provide relief/value to the survivors?

critical supply chains during the pandemic. The professionals can rely on different warehousing
value activities in developing immediate, short-term, and long-term solutions for supply chain
problems linked to the pandemic.
Providing Immediate Relief (1-3 months)
Different warehousing activities can allow supply chain, logistics, and transport operators
to cater to immediate survivor’s needs during the pandemic. The professionals should focus on

professionals should focus on building resilience against the pandemic. The leaders should
collaborate with manufacturers, suppliers, and customers in creating an effective management

should swiftly develop and implement ideas for increasing the safety and welfare of employees
and customers. In the COVID-19 period, organizations should focus on providing urgently
required products like drugs, devices, gloves, and surgical masks.
Logistics and transport management teams should make a swift adjustment to the
transport modes utilized in their companies. The team should understand that COVID-19 majorly
disrupted air and road transport. The modes suit transportation of perishable goods like fruits and

trucks and containers in transporting perishable products from production points to their
warehouses.
