Discussion Question:
Considering your selected topic, what healthcare teams would be essential to help support your new project implementation? How would each identified team help support the integration and outcomes you plan to achieve? Consider aspects related to communication, collaboration and professional organizations for best practices in healthcare informatics.

Explanation & Answer
hey! this is the discussion post to start the thread
The eMAR technology is one of the most convenient and reliable ways to prevent medication
errors. Medication errors like the administration of wrong medicine, wrong route, and wrong
dose errors are easier to prevent with this technology. The effective implementation of eMAR
in healthcare settings requires collaboration between healthcare members of different
disciplines. A collaboration between physicians, nurses, technicians, and pharmacists will
ensure effective results from the eMAR (Scott-Cawiezell et al., 2009).
A significant role in the effective implementation of eMAR will be played by on-site
pharmacists. Their assistance would be especially important in the early stages of
implementation. Patient safety relies on the accuracy of medication orders. The pharmacists
on team will be helpful in this regard. The pharmacists will enter medication safety
information into the system. There will be information regarding drug-drug interactions,
drug-food interaction, drug dosage, and the most effective route of drug administration. This
information will be needed by doctors while selecting the most appropriate medication for
patients. The nurses will require this information while administration of drugs to patients so
that adverse reactions of drugs can be prevented. After initial rollout of the technology, the
pharmacy will remain onboard for medication orders sent by nurses via eMAR. Some
pharmacists will also be trained as “super-users” who will educate other staff about using the
technology properly (Bach et al., 2015).
Collaboration with the physicians in healthcare facilities will also be required. The physicians
will be required to enter all the data regarding patient’s medication and allergies into the
system so that the information can be subsequently used as a sort of gui...
