REFERENCES 3 Feasibility Report 1. Introduction In years to come the need for energy will increase manifold while the reserve of conventional energy will deplete in rapid pace. To meet the growing demand of energy harnessing of non-conventional / renewable energy is the necessity. Among all the available non-conventional sources, solar energy is the most abundant and uniformly distributed. Though the technology of trapping the solar energy is studied and developed. It is in existence the process can be in proved to increase efficiency and make it cost effective. As the sun moves across the sky during the day, it is advantageous to have the solar panels track the location of the sun, such that the panels are always perpendicular to the solar energy radiated by the sun [4], [9]. This will tend to maximize the amount of power absorbed by PV systems. It is estimated that using a tracking system, over a fixed system, can increase the power output by 30% - 60%>> << 1.1. Purpose of the Feasibility Report << A feasibility report is a document that assesses potential solutions to the business problem or opportunity, and determines which of these are viable for further analysis. The purpose of the feasibility report is to present the project parameters and define the potential solutions to the defined problem, need, or opportunity. Having brainstormed a variety of potential solutions, the project team expands on each of these potential solutions, providing sufficient detail, including very high-level costing information, to permit the project leader to recommend to the approving authority all of the viable potential solutions that should be further analyzed in the next phase (Business Case). Project constraints and limitations of expenditure are among the various factors that will determine viability >> 1.2. Project Description << To track the sun in two directions that is elevation and azimuth, a dual-axis tracking prototype is developed to capture the maximum sun rays by tracking the movement of the sun in four different directions. One axis is azimuth which allows the solar panel to move left and right. The other axis is elevation and allows the panel to turn up and down. The result of this new development provides the solar panels with extensive freedom of movement. This process makes use of the Light Depending Resistor (LDR) which is important to detect the sun light by following the source of the sun light location. AutoCAD software is being used to design the draft in 2-dimension (2D) for the hardware dual axis solar tacker. Sketch Up software is being used to sketch the drawing to be more real in 3-dimension (3D). Proteus software is being used to design the circuit for the Arduino UNO microcontrollers and H-Bridge IC chip. This implemented system can save more energy and probably offers more reduction in cost. Conclusions In this proposed system, the sun tracking system was implemented which is based on concept of voltage difference by using small solar cells. After examining the information obtained, it can be said that the proposed dual axis sun tracking is a feasible method of maximizing the energy received from solar radiation. The use of dc motors enables accurate tracking of sun while keeping track of the array's current position in relation to its initial position with the help of solar cells. The solar cells are arranged for each axis. The automatic solar radiation tracker is an efficient system for solar energy collection. It has been shown that the sun tracking systems can collect about 20.98 % more energy and proposed system collects 33.99 % than what a fixed panel system collects. In most of the existing solar tracking systems, the main panel gives the necessary power to run the drive with reduces the output power of main panels & reducing efficiency of solar tracking system[13] but in this paper we have given input to driving system only by small cells. Thus small solar cell does two functions simultaneously. One is to sense the position of sun & another is to give input to the motor.
