Network-attached storage (NAS) refers to a reserved file storage that permits diverse
client devices and multiple users to recover data from a centralized disk's storage capacity. A
standard Ethernet connection in a NAS enables users in a LAN (local area network) to access the
distributed storage. NAS devices do not have a display or a keyboard and are managed and
configured with a utility browser. Each NAS exists in the LAN as an impartial network node
distinguished by its unique IP address. Additionally, NAS has reasonably low cost and high
capacity (Gibson, 2000).
