Numerical Measures

Numerical Measures

create a research question with at least two variables. Rewrite your research question here. List your two variables. For each of your variables, also create (invent) and list a small set of data that could represent that variable.
For both variables, using the data you invented, calculate the measures of center (mean, median, and mode) and the measures of variance (range, variance, and standard deviation). Include the results and any work. (You are welcome to use Excel).
Think about what these measures tell you about your data. Use these values to describe your data in words. For example, is your data skewed and how do you know? Which variable has the greater variation?
In your daily life or career, which of these measure do you use? Choose one and give an example. This is not an essay or a paper this is a discussion each question needs to be 1 to paragraphs long. IT MUST be in text cited and referenced. Must be plagiarism free and grammar needs to be understandable and free of errors.

4 Stat Questions (Using Excel)

4 Stat Questions (Using Excel)

1. A trucking company continuously monitors the tread remaining on its fleet of truck tires. The firm knows that standard deviation is 0.1 cm. Suppose a sample of 80 tires were obtained, and the mean tread was 2.2 cm. Construct a 99% confidence interval. The company's operations manager knows that flat tires occur more often when the tread is below 1.0 cm. At what sample mean (and higher) should the company reasonably expect minimal flat tires, based on a 95% confidence interval?2. Monthly expenses for an advertising agency were obtained for the previous year. The sample of 12 expenses showed a mean of $196,000, with a standard deviation of $45,000. The office manager is budgeting for monthly expenses, and would like to know if it is reasonable to expect expenses to be below $250,000. Construct a 95% confidence interval to justify if $250,000 is reasonable.3. An online business consulting firm provides its service on a hourly basis. In the previous 15 months, the business had the following number of hours billed for its services.( Hours billed: 212 389 457 505 740 678 987 573 761 812 933 691 558 575 872)a. What is the point estimate of the population mean? b. Construct a 90% confidence interval.4. As the operator of an e-commerce web site, you are interested in monitoring the average time spent on the site. How large of a sample of usage times should be obtained, provided your allowable error is 30 seconds. Based on a long history, you know the standard deviation of usage times is 5 minutes. Assume a 90% level of confidence.

How many of the variables in this data are Scale, Nominal, and Ordinal variables?Use the Data View tab found in the lower left hand corner of the window to answer the following questions: How many subjects are in this data set? What are the last name, gender, and GPA of the 10th subject?Conduct a simple analysis and retrieve some output: In the Menu Commands, click on Analyzeto open a drop down window. From the drop down window, open the Descriptive Statistics window, then Descriptive…. A dialog window will open: Descriptives. Locate and move GPA into the Variables Box.Click on the Options tab on the right hand side of the Variables Box. Another dialog window will open, Descriptives: Options. In this dialog box, select: Mean, Standard Deviation, Range, and S.E. Mean and press continue to close this box. Press OK in the Descriptive dialog box.An output window should open. Copy and paste the output table into this Word Document for assignment submission. What is the number of GPAs? What is the range? What is the mean? What is the standard error?
