Kansas intelligence fusion center (KIFC), established in 2009, aims to provide
intelligence investigations and analysis vital for the homeland security practices (KIFS, n.d.);
this facilitates the identification of and aversion of threats to protect life, independence, and
property in Kansas. Thus the mission of the fusion center is information dissemination with
relevant security agencies.
A distributed homeland security system enables residents to work in areas they are
well-informed. For instance, tribal participation in fusion centers maximizes their
effectiveness in information sharing fully. Moreover, independent states permit partnerships
with locals for a sufficient flow of information. In creating a collaborative environment where
