performance improvement methodology Reply 1 to Teacher (Teacher asked me a question pertaining to my post):
Hi - great response with valuable information as it relates to the specific scenario. This is an excellent point you highlighted: Increased errors and deficiencies in the lab are a major threat to the institution, and the hospital manager has to establish an urgent performance improvement methodology to address the problem (AHRQ, 2020).
What would be one performance management methodology you would use to address the issues in this scenario you chose above?
Thank you,

Having effective performance management is essential in healthcare. According to Langabeer (2018), "Performance management refers to the process by which organizations align their resources, systems, and employees to strategies and objectives" (p. 21). In order to have effective performance management, it is important to explore and choose the best methods and tools that will work well for the organization. With the best performance management methods and tools, it can help the organization to improve quality of care and increase the engagement and productivity of employees.
When it comes to making improvement in performance management, there are many issues that a hospital manager might face. One of the issues is that "the lab has had an increase in errors and deficiencies." The information provided in the lab is important because it helps the physicians and other healthcare providers to make appropriate decisions for the patients regarding the improvement and maintenance of their health. Because there was an increase in errors and deficiencies in the lab, this can hurt the organization. An increase in errors and deficiencies has to do with process measures. In order for the lab to create better results and reduce errors and deficiencies, they will need to improve their processes. Furthermore, with the issue of increased errors and deficiencies in the lab, a hospital manager's selection of performance improvement methodology will be affected. Based on the nature and the type of issue regarding errors and deficiencies in the lab, the choice of performance improvement methodology will change, and the best performance improvement methodology will be chosen in order to fix the errors and deficiencies.
