find the area of a square inscribed in a circle of diameter 16 inches

The diameter of the circle is the same as  the diagonal of the square = 16 inches

The side of the square = 16/sqrt(2) since 

Side^2+side^2 =digonal^2

Area of the square = 16^2/2 =256/2 =128 sq inches

Answer: 128 square inches
