Running head: WIRELESS AIR MOUSE 1 WIRELESS AIR MOUSE2 Wireless Air Mouse The computer industry has established itself and is one of the most profitable industries in the world today. This can be attributed to the growth of the internet and information technology. The Wireless Air Mouse aims to offer an innovative way for operation for all computer users. The air mouse is a revolutionary product with is aimed primarily for gamers, graphic designers, and all computer users include. The air mouse is a one of a kind revolutionary product that can change the concept of computer mouse's entirely. The world is experiencing a great wave of technological advancement that has made it that things initially considered basic, like a computer mouse, have been upgraded. The wireless air mouse is like a jewel to regular computer users like gamers, graphic designer and people who enjoy using the computer. The air mouse is expected to be a huge success because it is a concept that has never been sold in the technology again. Additionally, it is projected to be a success because all computer users need a mouse. Overview of Organization ION Wireless is an organization that is offering the air mouse. The company is offering the new mouse that is worn like a glove that has little buttons that are worn to enable functions like the right and left click. The company is offering one of a kind mouse that can operate in 3-D and works through levitating in air. It is the latest invention by ION Wireless and it is a great opportunity for any interested investors. ION Wireless is the first company to offer this product thus the company is currently the only supplier (Abass, 2015). The company currently has a strong position in the market and thus can be regarded as a monopoly. Once the air mouse is fully integrated into the market, the company is expecting high returns on investment and high profits. Description of Product/Service WIRELESS AIR MOUSE3 Mouse's are devices that are expected to continue evolving until technological advancements render the cursor obsolete. However, it will be a long time before people can replace their mouse's with fingers (Abass, 2015). This need for evolution of computer hardware has seen the niche mouse, the Ion Ergonomic Air Mouse Glove. This is basically a replacement for a mouse. The idea is for the wrist to control the cursor and ION's claim is that this uses tiny movement. To scroll, the ION Wireless Air Mouse requires the user to enable a one-time process referred to as Clicklock found in the device’s Control Panel and click the scroll bar to enable upwards and downward movement through a page using the wrist. The index finger allows the user to reach both the right and left click buttons. The device has a pause button that is useful especially when someone is moving around the room so that there is no need to take off the glove when leaving the working desk. Seeing that it is not connected to a USB port, the ION Wireless Air Mouse has an enabled and effective wireless range of as far as 35 feet. ION Wireless Air Mouse has been touted as an HTPC input device but the user needs to hone the Windows’ screen keyboard skills first (Abass, 2015). The ION Wireless Air Mouse is strapped onto the user’s right hand and it resembles a spandex. The ION device is made in three pieces. There is a stretchy hand glove, a mini-USB cable that is used to charge the devices in-built battery and the wireless receiver. The device is accompanied by a Velcro wrist strap that is used to secure the device to the user’s hand (Venkateswaran et al, 2016). The index finger slips through the device's two straps that form some sort of sleeve at the end of the cable. For users who do not share this device, the straps only require being adjusted once. One of the most prevalent question among people interested in buying the device is how the mouse’s pointer can be moved around meaningfully using only hand signals. The device is as WIRELESS AIR MOUSE4 easy to use as it is to move the hand. The user only needs to move the hand and the mouse pointer will follow these movements. Basically, the device works such that the physical hand movement for up moves the cursor up and down is down. Regardless of how the glove is cocked, the movements are the same so the user can operate it from any position. One of the issue that users have with this device is precise movements. To ensure satisfactory accuracy, the user should turn down the speed of the mouse pointer in the control panel. There is a tendency of the arm to drift when using the device. This is equated to the running out of mouse pad when the regular mouse is being used (Venkateswaran et al, 2016). When using the ION Wireless Air Mouse, the hand might climb or sink steadily to an extent that it gets uncomfortable and finally, the user had to reset. Although there is no set fixing problem, the red-rimmed button located on the ION Wireless Air Mouse is used to pause all operations. Clicking using the ION Wireless Air Mouse is an easy task. What presents a challenge is being able to click at what you are aiming (Venkateswaran et al, 2016). The device has click buttons that are located on the outside sleeve of the index finger. The user clicks right clicking and pauses by pressing the appropriate button located between the pointer and thumb. When using the ION Wireless Air Mouse, clicking requires some degree of force. The solution to the use of force is practice as well as turning the mouse pointer speed down. Considering the ION Wireless Air Mouse is designed in form of a nice soft glove, it has a lavish comfort when wearing. The ION Wireless Air Mouse has been exclusively given to Bellco Ventures as the distributing company (Abass, 2015). The device has been referred to as an ergonomic device. There are some benefits that stem from being able to remove the hand from a conventional mouse and using unusual motions to manipulate the computer. WIRELESS AIR MOUSE5 The ION Wireless Air Mouse has various advantages. It is a useful tool for presentations and big-screen, as well as short-term applications in scenarios where there is need for mobility and there is no need for precision. The claim for the ION Wireless Air Mouse is that its ergonomic design has the capacity to prevent or lessen the consequences of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. This is an affliction that affects the wrist and forearm and results in pain and extreme discomfort. It is mostly found in people who spend prolonged periods with computers. The hype for the ION Wireless Air Mouse is that it is regarded as the future of computer accessories. The argument is that the same way cell phones cut the communication chord, the ION Wireless Air Mouse is set to allow users to experience increased mobility with computing (Venkateswaran et al, 2016). Competitive Analysis ION Wireless is currently enjoying the air mouse niche on a monopoly level. However, the risk of an entrant into the air mouse market is not high. There is potential for various companies to embrace the idea and enter into the market. Currently, the greatest competitor to the ION Wireless Air Mouse is the Hippus Handshoe Mouse (Venkateswaran et al, 2016). This mouse replicates the ergonomic feature of ION Wireless Air Mouse hence offers competition.
