Introduction
Change is inevitable to any organization since new innovations and projects are
constantly being introduced. This is usually with the main aim of improving the performance of
the organization; maximizing profits and advancing their competitive advantage over other rivals
(Reiß, 2012). Therefore, change management techniques are important to ensure reduction of
risks and costs involved if poor management of change is done. If change is managed properly,
organizational objectives are achieved more easily, timely, and within the budget. The magnitude
of change to individuals affected and their adaptation to support these changes should be
considered while attempting to manage change. Organizational and individual procedure of
change is best reported using the change curve model which concentrates on people and ensures
that changes are smooth, thorough and executed.

company’s survival depended on the altering of its processes and structure. A sequence of
universal standard processes were recognized which later proved not to be popular in the short
term among countries that would lose their market share upon their implementation (Anderson
and Ackerman-Anderson, 2010). This was because they would significantly affect over eighty
operating components of Shell.
Therefore, to implement these changes successfully, every individual had to cooperate
and heed to the newly introduced processes and systems. This alteration was known as Shell
