Prince George's Community College Cognitive Emotion & Depression Paper
Please revise the attached Research Essay according to the Overall feedback which is also attached. Below is the original instructions for the essay along with the data given from the instructor.InstructionsFor this assignment, you will complete a research paper on The Stroop Effect and selective attention. The Stroop Effect is a phenomenon that occurs with the Stroop Task, a test that looks at what happens when we are asked to perform an ordinary task (such as reading or identifying a list of colors) when there is some sort of visual interference. You are acting like you are the researcher who conducted this study! However, you do not have to actually collect the data – I already have that for you. In order to understand how the study works and how data was collected, you will need to participate in an online experiment on the Stroop Effect located within the "psychology learning tools". Remember that you did this earlier in the class!Once you have completed the experiment you will need to analyze data (remember that I will give you data) and write a lab report (7- 10 pages - this page count does not include the title page or references) in APA style consisting of the following sections:Title PageAbstractIntroductionMethodResultsDiscussionReferences(More information on each section is located below)Here is the data file: DATARemember that you were given additional details in the Hypothesis discussion. You will write the report as if you were the researcher conducting the experiment. You have some options in your research question for this project. The data you are given includes the gender and age of the participants as well as two columns of results data (reading the words and saying the colors). If you have a particular interest and want to modify the data, you have that choice. We will talk about this as you work on your hypothesis. You should try to use as much of your data as possible. Do not discard data unless there is a really good reason to do so.Careful attention must be paid to APA Style as it represents a significant portion of your grade for the paper and is an intended learning outcome for the course. At the end of the term, you will submit your completed paper to your assignment folder.

Thinking Critically About Ethical Issues
****This discussion board question has two Parts to answerPart IThe information that you will need for the discussion can be found in Case 13d, p. 49; Case 20, p. 121; and Case 15, p. 96 of Thinking Critically About Ethical Issues. For one of these cases, identify the parties and the moral issue(s) at stake, keeping an eye out for similarities that it shares with the other cases. Concentrate on identifying which universal moral duties are at stake; also assess how the principle of respect for persons applies to the cases.Case 13d. An airline pilot goes for his medical checkup. The doctor discovers that he has developed a heart murmur. The pilot has only a month to go before he is eligible for retirement. The doctor knows this and wonders whether, under these unusual circumstances, she is justifies in withholding the information about the pilot's condition.Case 20.When Sally's father was gravely ill, he called her to his bedside and said,"I'd always hoped i'd see you graduate from college and go on to become a physicist, but I know death is near. Promise me one thing, that you'll keep on studying hard and become a physicist." Sally was deeply moved. "I will, she responded; "I swear to you I will." Her father died shortly thereafter. Now it is two years later, and Sally is ready to graduate from college. But she will not become a physicist. She has decided to go to law school.Case 15. A woman learns that her son-in-law fathered an illegitimate child several years before he met her daughter. (He and his wife have been happily married for ten years. They are childless) She is sure her daughter is not awate of this and has reason to doubt that she would ever find out about it by herself. The woman feel obliged to tell her, however, and does so. Part IIIn this week's module, we saw that Kant took the notion of a will that is not subjected to a chain of predetermining causes as the lynchpin of his moral system. Kant recognized that it is because we happen to be to some extent free to choose our courses of action that it makes any sense at all to speak of praising or blaming us for those actions. However, we also saw that Kant admitted there to be a faculty of choice by which our desires and beliefs—the things that we experience ourselves as having and that are caused by prior events—shape and cause the decisions we make. What this means therefore is that, according to Kant, human choice is problematic because it is capable of being viewed from two separate and seemingly incompatible perspectives, simultaneously:1. As part of a chain of causes and so, being determined by it. (a thesis in metaphysics known as Determinism)2. As standing outside a chain of causes (a metaphysical thesis known as the Free Will thesis)Provide a description of human choice that can be seen to exemplify both of the above perspectives. (Note you may either choose to describe a different human choice or action for each of the two perspectives, or describe the same choice from the standpoint of both perspectives at once). Do you think it is possible, as Kant did, to view human choice and action as being both free and caused, or was Kant mistaken, and are these positions mutually exclusive?Textbook used: Ethical Choices 2nd Edition (Richard Burnor & Yvonne Raley)

Discussion: The Impact of Social Policy, sociology homework help
Discussion: The Impact of Social PolicySocial policies can have a significant impact on individuals and families, as well as the organizations and agencies that implement the policies. In some cases, the policy, as written, appears comprehensive and effective. Yet, despite appearances, the policy might fail to be effective as a result of improper implementation, interpretation, and/or application of the policy. As a social worker, how might you reduce the potential negative impact faulty social policies might have on organizations and agencies, as well as the populations you serve? For this Discussion, review this week’s resources, including cases “Working with Immigrants and Refugees: The Case of Luisa” and “Social Work Policy: Benefit Administration and Provision.” Then, select either of the cases and consider how the social welfare policies presented in the case influenced the problems facing Luisa or Tessa. Finally, think about how policies affect social agencies and how social workers work with clients such as Tessa or Luisa.Post by Day 3 an explanation of the effects of the social welfare policies presented in the case study you selected on Luisa or Tessa. Be specific and reference the case study you selected in your post. Finally, explain how policies affect social agencies and how social workers work with clients, such as Tessa or Luisa.Support your post with specific references to the resources. Be sure to provide full APA citations for your references.
