hospitals is one of the settings where care is offered to the patients. Long term care hospitals
are focused on treating patients who have been hospitalized for more than 25 days. These are
the patients who may be suffering from one or more serious illnesses but these may improve
over time if they are under good care.
Purpose and Quality Statement
The purpose of the Quality Improvement (QI) Plan is to offer a formal ongoing
process by which the organization and stakeholders use measures to control, observe and
assess the quality of services, it can be both clinical and operational, given to the patients.
Policy makers believe that accreditation work in ensuring patient’s safety. Accreditation is
voluntary program where skilled peer assessors from outside the institution come to evaluate
a healthcare organization's compliance and compare it with pre-existing standards. The were
studies which their intention was to assess the impact of accreditation programs on the quality
of healthcare services The evidence that is from investigations that were done shows that
hospitals that are accredited are more likely to obey to evidence-based process measures. This
means that patients in accredited hospitals are more likely to receive proper care, which is not
harmful to them in any way. In the certain study that was done between 205 accredited
hospitals and 525 non-accredited hospitals. The results showed that in accredited hospitals
patients with heart failure are more likely to get angiotensin-converting inhibitor compared to
non-accredited hospitals. This proves that accreditation really does impact the type of care
that patients might receive.
In long term hospitals they commit into giving patients the best care possible. They
provide quality care to their patients that meet the patient’s needs. In the commitment of the

hospital to providing care to the patient, the persistent pursuit of safe and compassionate care
for everyone who comes in to seek care in the hospital. The collective effort and
collaboration is required at every level of the health system. The long term care hospitals
promote good practice via an ethical culture of quality of service, humanization and respect
for the dignity of every. Everyone is treated the same but in most cases they tear the patient
according to the needs of that particular patient. The long term care facilities are committed
to the continuous improvement of care the residents receive. It is evident that these facilities
strives to ensure that:
