(x+1)/(x-4) =0

(x+1)=0 

x= -1

(x+1) > 0 if (x-4) >0

If x >-1 and x> 4 

That is if x> 4 then (x+1)?(x-4) >0

if x < -1 , then also (x+1)/(x-4) >0

Thus if x< -1 or x> 4 then (x+1)/(x-4) >0

If -1 < x  <4 then (x+1)/(x-4) <0
