You can change it but like why? It is a 13 year old engine and it is worn so that compression pressure blows past the rings into the crankcase. The head gasket is much stronger than the oil pan gasket(which is either made of cork or neoprene. The head is held down with 10 or 12 5/16" inch bolts and the pan gasket is like the valve cover gasket with little suckers holding it down.
Run on a lower level of oil(like midway or less) OR do a motor job. Pan gaskets will not hold the compression pressures.
If you are using 5W20 change to something heavier like 30W straight and STP oil additive to thicken the oil and reduce the burn.
