1. Explain components of multidimensional nursing care for clients with
musculoskeletal disorders.
a. Diagnostic tests
Treatment of musculoskeletal disorders involves treatment services from orthopedics,
orthopedists, and orthopedic nurses. These nurses help prevent further complications to the client
with musculoskeletal conditions. The nursing care for such clients should involve their families.
For those who have undergone joint replacement, lumbar decompression or even insertion of
prosthesis should be provided with postoperative and preoperative care (What-when-how.com,
2021). The main component of care for clients with musculoskeletal disorder begins with
diagnostic tests. These tests include laboratory tests, radiography, arthrogram, myelogram, and
computed tomography. Other forms of diagnostic tests for individuals with musculoskeletal
disorders include magnetic resonance imaging, bone scan, ultrasound, arthrocentesis,
arthroscopy, biopsy, and electromyogram (What-when-how.com, 2021). The diagnostic tests
involve preparing the patient for physical examinations and other forms of tests. This is meant to
reduce tension or anxiety that the client may experience during that period. Some of the
laboratory tests that can be conducted include the complete blood cell count, blood levels of
calcium, rheumatoid factor, and creatine kinase tests. The component of diagnosing aims at
identifying the exact state of the injury.
b. Medical treatments
The text component involves initiating medical treatments. One of the main method used in
treating such cases is through physical therapy. This method of treatment is commonly used for
joint, bone, and muscle disorders. Some of the most common forms of physical therapy are a
