Listening for Understanding

How many times have you gone to the theater and left feeling exhausted? Or you were sitting in class (one where time flies) and feel like you need a big cup of coffee to make it to next period? It's because you were listening for understanding. Listening is really hard, and it's really tiring. But it is also a skill all of us need to learn and consistently practice to maintain.Please keep in mind that this is humor, so the ending is really not the norm. Very few people can do what Ronathan does. ;-)

• • Do you work with someone who is like this? Do they actually hear your?
    • This costs companies billions each year. Listening is extremely important.
  • At family or friend gatherings, do people answer a different question than the one you asked?
    • Happens to me all the time. I will ask someone about one of their kids, and they'll answer with information that is somewhat related to my question, but not really. I'm old, so I just ignore the ones who do that now and focus on people who are actually engaged in conversation.
  • Have you been guilty of doing this? I know I have. What did you do after? Anything?
