1. In her 1942 essay, "Professions for Women," Virginia Woolf explains that though she solved the problem of the Angel In the House by killing her, she has not been able to solve "telling the truth about [her] own experience as a body." She goes on to write, "I doubt that any woman has solved it yet. The obstacles against her are still immensely powerful---and yet they are very difficult to define.... she has still many ghosts to fight, many prejudices to overcome." Is Woolf's observation still valid in the 21st century? Why or why not?
