Diploid cell with 16 chromosomes goes through mitosis

Answer these related to this cell:

How many chromatids present in prophase?

How many daughter chromosomes present during anaphase?

How many chromosomes does each daughter cell have after cytokinesis?

If a diploid cell has 16 chromosomes:

1) There are 16x2 = 32 chromatids present in prophase (there are 2 chromatids in a chromosome)

2) There will be 16x2 =32 chromosomes present in anaphase; I'm not sure if the question is asking about the replicated chromosomes ("daughter") or all of the chromosomes.  If it's just asking for daughter chromosomes, I would say 16 -- 16 are the parent, and 16 are the daughter. If it's asking for total chromosomes, I would say 32.


3) After cytokinesis, each daughter cell will have 16 chromosomes -- just like the parent cell!
