Real Dangers of Social Media
We all have used social media in one way or another. Social media has been
really helpful to everyone but there are some dangers that it brings with it. There are many cases
where people have been affected by social media in either positive or negative ways. People tend
to overlook the negative impact of social media because they feel that they can handle the
situation or that it is something too small. However, the negative impacts are serious and should
be taken into consideration too. Every social media user should be aware of the negativity that
comes with social media. This is something that should not be overlooked at any given time. For
instance, there are parents who are known to either introduce their children to social media when
they are too young or even neglect them over social media. They neglect them when they are so
busy with the social media and do not care about the child at the moment. When a child is
exposed to social media at early they are forced to grow up fast than the normal rate. Some
children have been so badly affected that they have committed suicide because they cannot take
the pressure of being on social media (Edgington, 101). It is the high time people understand that
social media has a negative impact on their lives and those of the people around them. The best
solution is to regulate the use social media. Despite having a good impact on people’s lives
children should not be allowed on social media until they are mature enough. Parents should also
prioritize their children over the use of social media.
