Analysis of the Film Inside Out
In every narrative, rhetoric perspectives and methodology enable the reader to
determine why and how the message was effective or not and the message's outcomes to the
intended audience. An effective rhetoric narrative should capture the audience's attention and
influence them in the right way (Phelan, 1996). In this case, the movie under analysis is inside
out, a film about emotions intended for both young and adult audiences.
This film is all about the emotions that run through people's minds (Pixar, 2014).
However, the film's producer used a young girl called Riley to show the audience the impacts
of different emotions on family, school, and friendships. The film makes use of illustrative
animated characters disguised as emotions. For instance, the red animated character represents
anger, blue for sadness, green for disgust, purple for fear, and gold for joy or happiness (Pixar,
2014). Each of the characters, as mentioned above, represents a set of different emotions. The
characters were purposely used in the film to communicate the types of emotions embedded in
the human mind.
The inside out, an animated commodity film, has a strong focus on Joy and her
