In children younger than three years of age it can be difficult for parents to determine how much, and what type of “screen time” is appropriate for their children. The American Association of Pediatrics has released new media guidelines as of October this year to help parents decide how best to regulate their children's exposure to screen media. They recommend that children 18 months of age or younger avoid screen media all together except for video chatting, which can help maintain and build bonding and recognition between parents and infants especially if a parent or relative is not able to be physically around the infant as much.
