Korb was the vice president of Raytheon organization. Raytheon is a corporation with the
mandate to develop military equipment. Korb was allowed by the employer to work with the
committee for national security (CNS), which was an organization meant to inform the
community concerning the issues of national security. The remarks that Korb made to the CNS
press were against the employer’s code of conduct. Due to Korb's statements, Raytheon decided
to terminate Korb's employment contract since he acted against what the organization expected
him to do.
Korb then sued the employer for wrongful termination in Massachusetts law court. The
foundation for Korb and his allegations over the employer was the Massachusetts state civil
rights statute and the first amendment of the U.S. As a result, the employer moved this case to
the Boston federal district court. After Raytheon moved the case to Korb amended the complaint
and decided to remove the references he had created to refer the case to the constitution.
The organization hired Korb to serve as the representative and spokesperson in some of
the company's areas. The vice president failed and spoke against the corporation interest.
Although he believed that he was acting neutral from the approach he made, the employer did
not believe in his abilities to address most of the company's operations.
