Description

Last year the doc gave me a shot, a spray, some pills, and an inhaler. They worked really well but I don’t remember what they were. Can I have those things again? I just can’t afford to miss work.”

ALLERGIES
Allergies
Patients may suffer from diverse conditions influencing their health outcomes and goals.
One of the most common conditions arising in the community is allergy. There are different
causative agents linked to allergies. These factors and agents play a crucial role in shaping the
population's health decisions concerning the best treatment options and the ultimate framework
for promoting their wellness.
Since the industrial revolution ages, the globe has witnessed a rise in allergic conditions.
Numerous hypotheses have been provided to explain the prevalence and presence of allergies
across the communities. Recent studies show that at least 50% of school kids are sensitive to at
least one allergen or causative agent (Young-Mi, Song, Lee & Ju-Young, 2017). The prevalence
of allergic rhinitis is estimated at 10-30% on the global platform. This prevalence is influenced
by the presence of IgE antibodies on the affected patients. The environmental proteins are
witnessed in at least 4 out of 10 individuals. On the same note, drug allergy is estimated at 1 out
of 10 people from a global perspective. Drug allergy has been associated with at least 1 death in

5 people. Food allergy has a prevalence of 8 and 30% to either single or multiple products. In the
country, the prevalence of food allergy is between 3.5 to 4%. Some of the causative factors
include peanuts, milk and shellfish.
Treatment options
Numerous interventions have been created and implemented over the years. Their
effectiveness has been influenced by diverse factors ranging from the causative agents to the
environment. The most common interventions are the first and second-generation antihistamines.
Each of these drugs offers a set of benefits and drawbacks, making it either effective or
ineffective in handling the first-generation antihistamines are considered more effective ...
