Mini-Lecture II: Cultural Permutations of Myths
Choose a mythic character (female, male, hermaphrodite, transgender, etc.) found in a mythic tradition from any region of the world. The character can be one that is found our Learning Resources lists, or discovered during your own research.
First, discuss the importance of the character in in terms of interaction with humans based on an important story or social function. Then, find three other versions of that character from other cultures, historical times, or social contexts. With each of these three versions of the original: (1) Give a summary of each of these presentations; and, (2) give a short explanation that compares each of the three versions to the original.
The paper should be 4-5 pages or about 1,000-1,400 words in length, in size 12 Times New Roman font, double-spaced, and follow MLA or another style guide format.

Beauty as a Woman’s Strength
One of the most resourceful strengths that a woman has is her beauty. The beauty of a
woman is both dangerous and beneficial to people surrounding her. This is because is beauty can
be used to cheat other, make lives miserable for others or even bring life to the other (Gilman
32). As a woman one is deemed powerful through their beauty and through this beauty one can
create chaos or confusion amongst the people around you through this beauty. This paper
reviews a woman’s character and how she relates to the society by use of her beauty. It will look
at one woman character as the original and then include three other versions with similar
characteristics as the original.
The first woman to use her beauty to cheat in the world was Eve, the one and only first
creation of God. During creation, a woman was created to be a companion to man so as to make
him happy at all times. Based on the creation story after Adam was created, God saw that he was
lonely and not happy. As a result of this unhappiness, God decided to create Adam a companion
from his ribs that is Eve the woman and rather than Eve fulfilling her reason for being brought to
earth she became the ruin to all humanity (Schmidt-Brabant and Sease 5). Indeed Adam became
happy at the first sight of Eve as he smiled. Every man on earth was thus expected to develop...
