CHILD LABOR IN CHINA
Child Labor in China
To reduce child labor cases in China, the Chinese government needs to develop
economic policies. The policies should aim to create jobs, reduce poverty rates and improve the
wealth rate across all populations. Future research should focus on curbing the widespread
corruption which fails the workers and peasants. In China, the gap between rich and poor keeps
on widening than in other nations, and low-income families suffer even more. Therefore, the
Chinese government should formulate economic policies that aim at generating equitability,
balanced growth and even eliminate poverty.
Research should aim to have independent trade unions even though the Chinese trade
unions offer their country free will and rights to join a trade union. The committee in charge of
freedom of association has claimed that the Chinese trade union law directly contravention the
right of freedom association. Lacking independent trade unions subjects the workers to harsh
working conditions and creates continuity of child labor (Fang, 2018). Having trade unions
protects workers' rights and the rights of child workers.
The government should aim to increase education expenditure, thus reducing child
laborers; some of the issues that must address are eradicating poverty and raising school fees.
Lack of education and an increase in poverty led to an increase in child labor. Legal
enforcement should also be applied to ban child labor. Employers who employ children under
the age of sixteen years should be punished for breaking national legislation. Should enforce all
the laws in china forbidding child labor. Besides enforcing the laws, there should be effective
techniques to make education affordable and offer survival for low-income families...
