Large corporations require a formal and comprehensive approach to human resource
management compared to small companies. This is a result of their immense size and
complexity of their business operations. In a small company, there were Human resource
practices that fostered optimum performance and productivity. ABC is a large corporation,
but some of the HR practices that can be adopted from the small organization include
Effective training and development programs and establishing proactive human resource
management. The primary goals for ABC are creating a culture of innovation, teamwork and
a discovery mindset. Also, it aims to acquire and retain the best talent with positive energy
and motivation.
Designing effective training and development programs was used in the small scale
firm to increase employee retention and promote growth within the firm through the
formulation of useful and effective training and development programs. ABC Company can
also adopt it by introducing programs such as new employee orientation and onboarding
programs. These programs will inculcate a sense of commitment to the new recruit’s minds
as well as increase satisfaction. The program can be integrated with a mentorship program to
pair low-level employees with senior mid-level employees for training and development
session. Through this, the ABC employees will be well informed about the company’s goals
