Religion People carry their religious beliefs when they migrate. Over time, changes occur in the regions from which most U.S. immigrants originate and in the U.S. regions where they settle. How has this distribution of U.S. religious groups been affected by these changes?  POSt student' reply:Religion is affected by the destination of where they end up, and the diversity of local religious beliefs. The distribution of the United States religious groups has been affected due to most immigrants coming in to settle, and also being forced into living in a more rural area. They do this due to the fact that it costs the government much less money. When people go to a certain area and there is a specific type of trend going on, the immigrants will continue to go to that area. The Christian immigrants coming in the United States are more Catholic and Orthodox rather than being Protestant such as American Christians. The immigrants coming in to the United States are most likely to be evangelical. The newer immigrants entering in the United States are also less Christian.  The United States still remains to be the home country to mostly Christians. A large majority of American's still identify to be apart of some kind of branch along with the Christian beliefs. The drop of the Christian faith has been affected by the immigrants coming into the United States, due to the population becoming more racially and ethnically diverse. The religious groups in the United States have been affected by these changes, mainly because of the immigrants that are coming to the United States. They are bringing over their known religions, and it is taking over the Christian religion in the United States.
