3. What grade level do you work with? I work with middle school students (grades 6-8).
4. How many years of experience do you have as a school counselor? Counting time in my
internships, I have six years of experience.
5. What theoretical approach(s) do you most closely align? Solution-Focused
6. How did this develop? School Counseling doesn’t have much time for prolonged
approaches due to the drastically high caseloads. However, I do implement some personcentered techniques as well.
7. What and/or who were your models? ASCA
8. How does this approach impact your individual and small group counseling sessions in
the school setting? It helps me advocate for appropriate responsibilities in my job.
However, in the school setting I currently work in, it is imperative that I think more of,
“How can I best help in the moment,” any less, “Is this appropriate or what ASCA says...
